Since 1999 ACC has been performing numerous construction projects for Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. Unlike construction here in the U.S. mainland, materials and equipment is scarce in Guam. As a result, advanced planning is required. Many times, ACC’s engineers in Guam, had to be creative and resorted to manufacturing the needed materials with whatever resources were readily available.
The high demand and low supply of materials was the inspiration and motivation for ACC to open a store in Guam. The first store was relatively small, and was situated upstairs from a much larger Supermarket. The store sold parts for Air Conditioning Units, and ACC branded Mini-Split Air Conditioners.
From this grassroots beginning in the upstairs of a supermarket store, the ACC-HVAC Guam Division was developed. In 2012 ACC celebrated a grand opening of its new store in Guam and the launching of the ACC-Air Product line.
Keeping with ACC’s philosophy of “enhancing people’s lives” in mind, and due to Guam’s hot climate and tropical conditions, ACC focused on products relevant to refrigeration, air conditioners, and cooling systems. The name itself, ACC-Air stands for Air Climate Controlled – Air, contrary to what many mistake it to be.
As ACC moves forwards and expands the ACC-Air line, we will continue to stay true to our philosophy and create products that enhances people’s lives.
